OUR INSTRUCTORS
Janet Maass Fitz received her Bachelor of Science in Music Education with concentrations in piano, voice, and percussion, from West Chester University, PA and received Early Childhood Music Training at Towson University, MD and at Virginia Commonwealth University. Janet has taught vocal and instrumental music in public and private schools, and has worked with private piano and flute students of all ages since 1983. As director of Musikgarten of Lancaster, Janet offers a rich program of interactive, creative, and joyful music making experiences in classes for families with newborns, toddlers, preschoolers, and group keyboarding for elementary school age children. Janet is Vice President of the Lancaster Music Teachers Association, and is a member of national and state music teacher organizations ECMMA, MTNA, PMEA, PMTA, and MENC. As a church musician, Janet serves as a vocal soloist, instrumentalist, pianist, and children's choir accompanist. Janet lives in New Holland, PA with her husband and three children.
Linda Rasmmuson started playing the piano at age six and hasn't stopped since. Originally from New York, she began her studies with Julliard professor, Florence Hilbert. She continued her studies while attending high school and The William Patterson College of New Jersey where she earned her B.S. also performing at various local venues. Shortly after graduation she started teaching piano and is still sharing her love of music with others twenty years later. Linda is a seasoned educator, experienced teaching students of all ages in group and individual settings both publically and privately. She is an active member in the Lancaster Music Teachers Association and state and national organizations, PMTA and MTNA. As A member of the National Federation of Music Clubs some of her students have participated in music festivals earning numerous awards. She is also a past member of the American College of Musicians and the Workshop for Young Musicians. Today Linda lives in Lancaster with her husband and three children. She's looking forward to meeting all of you and share her expertise in the fun and exciting new Recreational Music Making program at Reifsnyder's.
